I have fond memories of Telemundo growing up as a child. It reminds me of afternoons spent in my grandmother’s apartment waiting for my mom to pick us kids up after work let out. The local Telemundo station was always on, whether we liked it or not. Grandma or Abuela, as we say in Spanish, didn’t play. No Power Rangers for us. Whomp, whomp. But, man, oh man, thinking of the savory smells of Puerto Rican food wafting through the place while dinner was cooking is enough to make my mouth water right now!
It’s clear that Telemundo knows how to make an impression. When they gained World Cup broadcast rights from their rival Univision last year, they were excited to celebrate that victory and make the news known to the world. According to the New York Times, “The takeover of the World Cup broadcast in Spanish has helped propel Telemundo’s rise as a major player in the world of Spanish-language sports media in the United States.” That’s huge! No surprise they contacted us to help fuel their FIFA World Cup 2018 marketing campaign in the NY tri-state area.
Their inflatable logo and branded larger than life inflatable soccer ball were featured at the NBC 4 New York and Telemundo 47 Health & Fitness Expo last June to create some last minute buzz. How can you ignore a giant inflatable soccer ball? You can’t!
