Inflatable Fire Education Houses for Fire Prevention Week
Inflatable Fire Education Houses for Fire Prevention Week
Fire Prevention Week is October 9-15, 2016 and Boulder Blimp Company has got you covered. With this year’s focus on the importance of up-to-date fire alarms, BBC can help get your community involved and educated.
Boulder Blimp Company designed and created the first Inflatable Fire Education House in 2008. Our house has three rooms to walk through and learn the importance of fire alarms, fire prevention, establishing a fire escape plan and what to do if there is a fire.
Fire Stations showcase their inflatable education houses at schools, town events, and have specific days during Fire Prevention Week that the house will be inflated for kids to stop by and meet their local Firefighters.
This October, the focus is replacing fire alarms every 10 years.
How to check- Check the back of your fire alarm for a date of manufacture. If you are buying a home, this is something that needs to be checked through out the residence right away.
Helpful Hint- When the clocks change, remember to change batteries and replace any smoke alarms that are outside of the 10 year window.
Get Everyone Involved— Have the family walk around the house together when checking Fire Alarms. This way everyone knows where the alarms are located and recognize the different noises the alarms will make. The more kids are exposed, the more educated and prepared they will be.
Remember- Someone is saved by a fire alarm almost every day.
