Inflatable Fire Education House 101
Boulder Blimp Company is known to have the “Original Fire Education House.” Working with a local Fire Department, BBC came up with the idea to have a tool that is portable, easy to set up and take down, and most of all educational. The Departments issues with the traditional trailer included: expense, storage, lack of portability, seasonality and maintenance/upkeep.
This is a great tool for Fire Departments because it can be set up by 2 firefighters, it can be inflated inside of a school or at a local event, you have year round use, it is significantly cheaper than trailers, and we stand by our product with a 2 year manufacturers warranty. With Fire Safety and Prevention being a pivotal aspect of every department, I love receiving feedback about the ease of use and how much kids love it.
First off, when creating the Fire Safety House it was important to emphasize that this is an educational tool. The flooring is hard for kids to walk through with their parents and local firefighters. The first room you enter is a kitchen with digital photos and external shapes to represent a true kitchen.
After the kitchen, you enter a living space that has a printed fireplace, fire extinguisher and educational banners. There is an option for a fog machine if your department would like that aspect. The living room connects to the final area where you go over the Exit Drills In The Home and there is a ramp connecting to an external landing pad.
Since the original Fire Safety House, we have created a larger size that is wheelchair accessible and depending on local code, we do offer both sizes in a Fire Retardant material. Our original house is still in use after 10+ years and being lent out to other local departments. For pricing or additional information, reach out to an Account Executive at Boulder Blimp Company.
“Well, it was about 50 degrees and raining but it did not affect us at all. We were set up in the school gym and able to teach every kindergarten and first grade class. This would normally have been 3 days for us but we were able to do it in 7 hours.”
